Just got this on clearance, so far so good! Oct 23, 2008
Got myself a new Macbook Pro recently, and needed to find a way to make sure it stayed nice and dent-free. Spent a lot of time looking online yesterday for a good bag, but all the ones I liked seem to fall in the over $100 range. After spending all my money on the Macbook Pro, I needed something cheap. Lo and behold, I stopped by my local Best Buy this morning, and found this bag on clearance. Not sure if I am allowed to post what I paid for it here, but I will go ahead. If I don't see this review on Amazon, I know I will have been edited by the Amazon gods. Anyways, I got it for $35! The main selling point was the convertible messenger to backpack function. It was also probably one of the better looking bags, with some style, versus just boring black. The only complaint I have so far is that the over the shoulder strap is attached to the midway point of the bag, so the bag "pivots" for lack of better word if you pick it up by the shoulder strap. Once you put it on, it is not so bad. But for the price I paid, I can't complain. Heck, I might even be willing to pay full price for this thing!

I don't own a notebook computer, so I don't use this back for that purpose (though, I may in the future).
I wanted a bag big enough to carry papers, folders, or books, with extra pockets for... stuff. I wanted a bag "firm" enough to hold a shape, yet not too much so that it was like a plastic tote. I wanted it lightweight, yet tough. The problem was that I couldn't decide between a messenger w/ an over-the-shoulder strap or a backpack (previously not fully satisfied with one or the other).
Then came along this bag. It could convert to backpack or messenger at any time... it was perfect! It met all my "wants" listed above. I also liked that this one had a verticle or upright shape. I always felt that horizontal bags made me take up a larger "footprint" as I walked around.
Before I ordered, I finally got some info from Targus. In all the pictures, on any site, I could never tell if the large inner pocket was a single pocket only for the notebook or if it was actually divded with one padded pocket for the notebook and a second remaining section for other papers. Target did confirm that it was divded with two separate sections in the main compartment. To me, that meant extra organization, so I placed me order!
I ordered with Amazon. I shopped all around and Amazon had the best price. Delivery was very fast as well. Very nice bag!

Just picked up one of these. It's very nice. I think the bag is a bit big to wear with the single shoulder strap, but is very comfortable with the back pack straps. Targus makes some good stuff.

I was having trouble with back and neck pain from carrying my laptop back and forth to work. I found this backpack/convertible messenger bag on Amazon at a great price. Holds the computer with several other pockets/space for other papers, etc. Great for carrying my laptop back and forth to work - no more back/neck pain for me! Love it.

Bought this for my husband, who wanted a large professional-looking computer bag that wasn't too stuffy. This is great. He loves the convertible strap - great for walking or bike-riding. Holds quite a bit of stuff in addition to the laptop. Shopped around for prices - Amazon's was the best, especially with free shipping.
