 Superior Tote for Laptop Nov 23, 2008
I'm very delighted with the capacity, quality and utility of the Targus bag. I have a Sony Vaio 17 laptop and everything I need fits perfectly. The padding is durable and lightweight with special protection that other bags didn't provide. The bag is even better qualty than I expected. I highly recommend this unit.

A better than average 17 inch bag Oct 27, 2008
Targus makes many bags that are better appointed, and laid out, but none in the 17 inch catagory. Neither does anyone else, which is a bit of a mystery. In any case, don't get the impression this is a "bad bag" at all, because it isn't.
The quality is the usual level for Targus, which means outstanding. The only real problem with it is that one of the "flaps" for getting into an accessory storage area isn't quite long/large enough, so visibility and access is a bit more difficult. Also if you have a 17" laptop, the attractive mesh accessory bag provided for cords and the like is USELESS, since it can't be stored in the body of the case (as intended and displayed), not enough room. It really doesn't fit well any place else, either. Having a really nice accessory bag that is useless is a bit irritating, at least for me.
I literally operate a business out of this bag, so these minor issues are very important to me. I like 100% easy access, with the quality of the Targus line. There are many FAR more expensive bags that are not as practically laid out, durable or attractive. If you need it immediately, there are brick and morter stores that carry it, but be prepared to pay "rack rate" of $75 (or more) plus tax. Even at that price, it's a good buy, but at AMAZON, it's far better.

 FOR 17" LAPTOPS, BE CAREFULL! Apr 30, 2008
For a 17" laptop be carefull. The pics. depict a smaller laptop. With a larger 17" laptop, there is no room in the body of the case to store the power brick charger. Just received case and trying to decide what to do with the power suppy brick. Concerned if I place it on top of computer, case may bulge. For that matter wherever I stick the power supply, the case may bulge. Taking another look at the leather Targus to see if it will provide more space for power supply and will return this one.

FINALLY! A Laptop case with extra room that's not too bulky! Mar 27, 2008
My title pretty much says it all, I got this case a few days ago and absolutely LOVE it's design and the fact that it fits a 17" widescreen notebook without having to cram the laptop into the case! The velcro insert can be moved to make more space to accommodate the larger laptops. I love the seperate mesh zippered pouch for the power pac, it has lots of built in pouches and mesh pockets for cell phone, mp3 player, chargers and holds 5 cds or dvd's, has another zippered file folder for papers or books, another large compartment under the flap for pens and storage and then two more compartments on each side of the outer sides. I transferred everything from my overstuffed old bag to this case and you would think with all of those compartments it would be bulky and hard to handle, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Even with a 17" notebook everything is so compact and well organized it's still easy to carry and maneuver. This is a great "take on the plane" case because it fits easily under the seat. So durable and well made, Targus is now my laptop bag and case of choice. Definetly worth the price with the free super shipping!
