You can record while you listen or you can set up recordings to occur later to a repeating schedule. You never have to miss a favorite show again. Recordings are saved to your hard disk and can be added automatically to your iTunes library for listening on your iPod. Griffin's Radio Shark software keeps track as you listen. You can pause the broadcast and come right back to where you left off, moments or even hours later. Radio Shark's on-screen radio tuner looks, feels and works just the way you expect a radio dial to work. There's nothing to learn and no monthly fees. Along with the usual fare of AM/FM talk shows, call-ins, top-forty and easy listening, you get to browse the ever-expanding world of Internet Radio. You get to sample great music and sounds from all over the world via Cyberspace. It's just like listening to Radio. Plug the radio Shark Fin into your computer's USB port, load the software and start tuning in. You can pick it up as you go or you can help yourself to detailed step-by-step instructions, authored by a team of trained professionals. Along with the Shark Fin, you get the optional antenna extension in case you have poor reception and easy-to-use Radio Shark 2 software. If you are a PC user running Windows XP or Vista, you can take advantage of a special free edition of Snaptune One. Snaptune One turns radio SHARK 2 into a powerful Music Discovery Machine, with browsing, shopping, scheduling, exporting and cataloging features you will love. Snaptune One automatically identifies the songs it records from radio, filling in artist and album information and puts them into a playlist for you.

1Completely unacceptable reception  Nov 18, 2008
I was hoping to use this for my favorite talk radio station at 570 AM. Reception was completely unacceptable while a battery operated radio in the same spot was completely acceptable. I will be posting a photo soon. It's too bad because if it had decent reception it would have been a nice product (though I didn't really get a change to use the software because it's going back right away).

5Does the trick!  Oct 08, 2008
Considering it's no longer really ideal to go back to the old school mix tapes for your radio recording pleasures, this really does the trick. I've had no problems with my FM recording (don't need AM) and the software has worked perfectly. I did have a problem with the preset recording ONCE, but that was due to my computer's error, not the software, and not the shark. The RadioShark was actually recommended to me by a local radio DJ after I asked how I can get copies of his mixes since they're not offered on PodCasts. Now I can have the mixes I want whenever I want them. Best thing EVER!

1AM reception is worthless  Oct 04, 2008
We wanted to record AM weekly programs on a very strong station. Every radio I've ever owned can pick up the station well - it's very strong and we are close to the tower. The RadioShark can barely pick it up and there is far too much static to be useful. It works reasonably well for FM, but it is absolutely useless for AM.

4RadioShark2  Sep 20, 2008
I got the Radio shark when I had my old old computer. This was back when the itunes was just starting out. I wanted something to record my radio programs. I loved the Radio Shark. Now with itunes and the internet you can get most radio programs off the internet. The problem is that they the recordings come out a week later or a few days later. With the Radioshar2 I can record my talk radio that played at 6am and listen to it when I get up at 8am or listen to a weeks worth of radio on the weekend. Only issue I have had is that it has crashed several times. Griffin the company that makes this has sent me a fix that I had had to do several times. Only draw back but for me it is worth it just to get my programs recorded and put on my iphone or ipod.

5Buy it!  Sep 02, 2008
I've been using the RadioShark2 connected to my Mac Mini running Leopard for over a month now. I really like having the ability to record audio off-air like a VCR. Haven't had the reception problems others have reported, though some AM reception issues may be due to interference from the computer it is connected to. I'd like to see some improvements to the Griffin software package, maybe preset buttons for different stations, as well as a connector for an external antenna. Overall, I like it and feel it is reasonably priced.
