Iomega 320g NAS system Dec 27, 2008 Iomega Home Network Hard Drive (NAS) Ethernet/USB 2.0, 320GB (33813)
Great hard drive with network capability backup software works great unattended. I backup 2 machines in home network. Fairly fast, it is faster than attaching thorough Windows.

Buen producto Oct 01, 2008 Excelente producto he logrado hacer todos los backups de la empresa, lastima que solo se pueden 4 usuarios al tiempo como maximo, la configuracion es algo engorrosa, pero muy bien.

Just what we needed Jun 25, 2008 We needed a shared networked storage device to easy and quickly back up the data from our two computers. The Iomega NAS is small and attractive, and was extremely simple to install. I chose, however, to map a drive using Windows' drive mapping instead of the Iomega software utility because Windows' mechanisms are so simple. As well, while I reviewed the included backup software (which seems just great for traditional "full" backups), I chose a free "automatic synchronization" utility from an Internet-based vendor that I prefer because what I really need is just a real-time-updated secondary copy of all my data. The NAS was installed in minutes, the sync software was installed in just a few more, and the system works excellently! While the first copy of all my data to the NAS understandably took a few hours (I have lots of data), the subsequent synchronization updates to the NAS take just a minute or two. The Iomega NAS is just what we needed!

Iomega got it right! Jun 17, 2008 This device connects my 2 desktops and laptop to allow file sharing between them. In addition, all 3 are backed up onto it.
My previous external hard drive was Maxtor which had poor installation instructions & confusing software so I was hesitant about trying to hook up 3 computers to the Iomega. I'm glad I did - the installation was quick and easy and it works smoothly!

Perfect solution, Perfect installation, Perfect peace of mind May 09, 2008 My laptop black screened on me this week and I immediately begin to panic about all the personal data I had on my hard drive (HD). This was further elevated when the HD was cored out into another machine and it began to blue screen. Our computer technician started saying things like "corrupted registry" and lost data and I started thinking about all the family photos I would lose and my entire wife's internet business data that I spent the last 10 months developing. Fortunately the technician patched the O/S without my losing anything. The next day I went in search of a backup system for my machine and ran across this package. It was too perfect. Offering not only more than enough space to store my entire families data collections, it's boasted NAS capability, and software to automate daily backups for what seemed like a very small price to pay.
I am a long time computer engineer and have rarely had any piece of equipment "seamlessly" plug-n-play. I usually tend to install the hardware with some frustrations, usually minimal, and then spend the next hour or two fighting software issues. I pulled this NAS device out of the box, plugged it into our network, plugged in the power, and turned it on. I took the cd, installed the two pieces of software, the network device finder, and the backup/restore software and launched the network device finder and it took all of about 2 minutes to create a new mount on my laptop for the Iomega HD. I then launched the backup software, chose the folders I wanted backed up and within another few minutes the backup process was well underway. I have never had it this easy before. Kudos to Iomega for finally given us a complete easy to use, out of the box, plug-n-play backup storage system. Now I don't have to worry about my HD crashing anymore!!
