5Great Value for the Price  Dec 03, 2007
I purchased this computer for under $500 in the summer to replace a $1100 Dell. I love it and can't believe it was so cheap! I keep waiting for something to wrong but so far, I've been pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend it.

1THIS COMPUTER SUCKS!!!!  Nov 27, 2007
Ok so I bout an Acer Aspire 3610 after I found a good deal last year at Circuit City and was told its a great computer.... BIG MISTAKE EVER!!
within a year the plastic on the top of the screen when the lid was closed cracked near the hinges! I had the one year warrenty and had it fixed and they put a new screen on it... everything was find for a little while.. Then I decieded to extend my warrenty because I thought oh well it will last for a little bit... well they charged me 3 times for the warrenty! I had to fight to get my money back and I still havn't recieved one payment back.. Then my screen would get lines althrough it and make it so that you couldn't do anything on the computer. I sent it in and it worked... now I go to find out that the CD drive the outside piece broke off and its cracked near it so it won't open right!
MY SUGGESTION... STAY AWAY FROM ACER!!!!

4Got mine for $600 at Best buy - and I love it.  Mar 28, 2007
I needed a few PCs. I was not interested in spending over $1,000 on this particular company machine. I was waffling between Gateways when I saw this model sitting off to the side like some unwanted friend at the playground.

I was **highly** skeptical, but I went back and forth to the $850 Gateway (I love Gateways) and finally decided to try this. Actual specs are 1.6 ghz total (dual), 1 gig of RAM and almost perfect (considering how CHEAP it was). the one fly in the ointment is that horrible Vista. I am really not liking the Vista. But that is just software.

the keyboard is easy, responsive, and hopefully durable. I am not fond of the extra keys in the far right corners. They really piss me off. But this little bargain brand laptop has some great features that you would not expect. It burns the new dual density DVDs, is GREAT on battery life (I am averaging 3-4 hours so far), charges in about an hour (even if it is on), is super light and the screen is ggorgeous.

you wont get past 180 res, but that is true of the Gateways I checked out as well (which is one of the reasons I decided to save $250-$400 and spend so little on a new machine.

I really like my machine. I don't feel at all like I am running a bargain machine, and we get a few compliments on it - which is unexpected.

3Wrong Specs and Bad Customer Service  Jan 07, 2007
I bought an Acer notebook just to find out that the specs were wrong. The PC was sold as 1 GB RAM but instead it came with 786 MB, I researched the Acer PC online and found out I was not the only one who had this problem.

Another thing, the HD was formatted in FAT32 instead of NTFS. This is not much of problem now but it might one when I get the Vista upgrade disk they promise and try to upgrade the OS System. Also, the keyboard is very noisy.

Now the worst thing, it's the customer service. Practically non-existent and this is why I gave it 3 stars. Good luck calling them and be very patient if you send an email.

Aside from that, the pc it's reliable at a very good price. I guess you get what you paid for.
